Moondust

Live through the choose-your-own-adventure cosmic horror experience of witnessing the colossal Moon diving not in the vast confinement of space, but only a few feet above your head, inching closer and closer, the events of the Moondust Festival where the residents of Moonville celebrate the almost snow-like dust falling only once a year from the moon to their tiled town confined by green hills that almost serve as a bowl specifically made to fit the moon, the adventure to discover the reason behind the absence of the annual lunar veil, or just.....
- Stay home, decorate your house, and build a loving family
- Become a detective/researcher and search for the history of Moonville and the odd behavior of the moon that doesn't seem to repeat anywhere else, while following the tracks of the Lavender Lady and the Burglar
- Go on an adventure for the sole purpose of ruining the Moondust festival
- Become a serial killer
After all, what kind of jest is a choose-your-own-adventure game if it doesn't have these options, so tread lightly and choose wisely.

This is an interactive fiction game with an inventory and an insight system:
- an inventory system where you get to keep track of all the items important for the progression of the story.
- an insights system that allows the player to click on specific illuminated words for insights and an insights tab that keeps all the important observations of specific information about the characters you meet and the places you visit throughout the story, allowing for a highly interactive story-telling method.
In addition to the story being heavily reliant and heavily affected by the player's choices as stated above, and more planned interactive features in development, such as:
- A tree that records all the choices taken and the paths yet to be discovered.
- A functionality that will allow the player to discover all possible paths without having to create new saves or saving manually at specific parts of the game, which can get confusing and annoying at times.
- A customizable UI/X.
- Expansion packs that either add to the experience or add to the story.
Why Godot?
I chose to develop the game on Godot (with the aid of a plugin called "Dialogic" for many reasons:
- Leniency, freedom and uniqueness.
- Learning Godot for me is much more beneficial for possible future projects.
- Basically interactive shenanigans that I don't think I can do on Ren'py.
Disclaimer:
This is only a prototype launched to test the water and to receive much needed feedback, the future of this project will heavily rely on the support received (not necessarily financially even though I need that the most).
